Answers to common questions

Is an Inkproof report legal proof?

No. Inkproof keeps a careful record of your work. SHA-256 fingerprints prove a file hasn't changed since it was recorded, not when it was created, since there's no trusted timestamp without a server.

How do I keep internal notes out of the client PDF?

Mark the report, section, entry or block as internal (⌥⌘L). Export the Client version; the inspector lists what will be left out before you export.

What gets masked automatically?

In Code, Request, Diff and E-mail blocks: authorization and cookie headers, bearer tokens, JWTs, API keys, passwords and tokens in JSON or URLs, and valid CPF and CNPJ numbers. E-mails and phone numbers are optional (Settings › Masking). Redact screenshots with the annotation tool; a solid redaction is the safest for critical data.

How are report numbers assigned?

When you finalize a report, per company and report type (TR, IR, CL, FX, CM, SO). Change the format in Settings › Numbering; existing reports keep their numbers.

How do I sync between my devices?

With Inkproof Pro, turn on Settings › Sync on each device, signed in to the same iCloud account. Your data stays in your private iCloud.

I bought Pro but it isn't active

Open Settings › Pro and choose Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple Account you used to buy it. Family Sharing members get Pro too.

What happens if Pro ends?

Nothing is locked or deleted. Sync pauses and your data stays on the device; Pro blocks you already added stay visible and export. Only creating beyond the free limits needs Pro again.

How do I back up my data?

Settings › Data › Export Backup saves everything, attachments included, to one JSON file. Restoring adds missing items and updates matching ones; it never deletes and never rewrites an original attachment.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Settings › Pro › Manage Subscription, or in your Apple Account subscription settings.
